Cook Family

Missionaries to SE Asia

There are 7,360 languages in the world, and only a little over 700 languages have a completed Bible translation (representing 5.7 billion people). This means that about 2 billion people do not have access to a complete Bible in their language. Many of these people will be born, live their entire lives, and die without ever being able to read the name of Jesus in their language, let alone the message of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. The reality of this need has broken the hearts of the Cook family, and, yet, gives them a strong purpose of mission to obey the Great Commission.

The Cook family has identified a Bible-less language group of about 250,000 in SE Asia that are 100% Muslim, have no church, and have no Scripture in their language. They hope to serve these people by initiating and leading a Bible translation team, while evangelizing in order to establish a church in the target language.

There are three children in the Cook family. While Mr. Cook will do the majority of the translation and church planting work, Mrs. Cook plans to homeschool their children, evangelize local Muslim women, and lead Bible studies from the newly translated portions of Scripture. They long to continue their work for the glory of Christ among these peoples.
