Missionary Care Specialist
REMOTE POSITION – 40 HOURS PER WEEK
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work alongside mobilizers to assess and coach candidates to ensure they are well-prepared for life overseas and the challenges of cross-cultural ministry
- Engage overseas teams and advocacy teams to ensure robust care for missionaries
- Ensure missionaries are involved in community where they are encouraged, accountable, prayed for, and strengthened for their work
- Keep up-to-date on their lives/ministries and find resources to benefit them and their work
- Preventative Care
− Create and implement programs to provide each individual (child, adult, married, single, etc.) knowledge and skills to thrive in their lives and ministries
− Assess needs/symptoms of members
− Provide debriefings for transitions and re-entries - Intervention Care: provide conflict resolution/mediation, and resource brokering for needs
- Crisis Care: Provide crisis management and debriefings for loss, grief, or crisis experience
- Travel periodically to visit churches, global team members, and prospective partners
- Raise 100% financial support (i.e. salary, benefits, retirement, ministry-related expenses)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A committed Christian with a deep and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is demonstrated in Christlike character and integrity.
- A passionate heart for God’s glory, His word, His church, and making disciples of all nations
- Full agreement with DTN’s statement of belief, core convictions, and ministry DNA
- Strong interpersonal communication and administrative skills
- Education: Bachelor’s in Bible or Counseling, with Master’s or advanced ministry degree preferred
- A joyful willingness to serve God’s people, especially His servants working in gospel-centered Kingdom ministries
- Experience: 5 years of ministry required; cross-cultural experience preferred
