Director of
Missionary Care
REMOTE POSITION – 40 HOURS PER WEEK
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee DTN’s missionary care ministry and personnel
- Develop, initiate, and manage the organization’s flow of care
- Create job descriptions and provide clear expectations, coaching, and reviews
- Develop and implement the necessary assessments to ensure candidates are well-prepared for life overseas and the challenges of cross-cultural ministry
- Develop equipping resources for local churches to advocate for their missionaries
- Ensure the discipleship of and resourcing for missionaries
- Ensure personnel are encouraged by and accountable to a biblical community
- Oversee the facilitation of resources to ensure missionaries’ needs are met
- Create and implement policies and training programs, including:
Preventative, intervention, and crisis care for individuals, teams, singles, couples, teens, etc.Conflict resolution/mediation, contingency planning, risk assessments, evacuation policies and plans, debriefings
Travel periodically to visit churches, global team members, and prospective partners
Raise 100% financial support (i.e. salary, benefits, retirement, ministry-related expenses)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A committed Christian with a deep and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ that is demonstrated in Christ-like character and integrity
- A passionate heart for God’s glory, His word, His church, and making disciples of all nations
- Full agreement with DTN’s statement of belief, core convictions, and ministry DNA
- Strong interpersonal communication, administrative, and management skills
- Education: Master’s degree or above in Bible, counseling, or a mental health related field, or equivalent experience. Specialized training in member care preferred
- Experience: 5 years of ministry required; cross-cultural experience preferred
