Associate Pastor at English-speaking Church in Italy

Vicenza Bible Church is an English speaking, international church. Located outside of the Vicenza Army base, our congregation consists of relatively young members. Serving a military population can create drastic fluctuations in attendance; most of our congregation turns over every 3 years. Additionally, the transient nature of a military church can bring difficulties to areas that a lot of stateside churches take for granted such as a steady volunteer base, actively and engaged regular attendees, etc. However, over the few years of the church’s existence, the Lord has blessed VBC to have all of its needs met by both its faithful members and regular attendees.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• He will personally lead and oversee the home group ministry.
• He will lead and teach Sunday School.
• He will personally lead and develop outreach ministries and initiatives.
• He will preach approximately 12-14 times per year on Sunday mornings.
• He will help provide Biblical counseling and support for members in need.
• He will serve as a member of the Elders and all its duties.
• He will work closely with the deacons, equipping and empowering them to execute their
ministry through prayer, encouragement, resourcing, and constructive feedback.
• If he is gifted and passionate about another ministry (ex: worship music), he may lead in
that ministry, but that is not a requirement.
• Other duties assigned by the elders.
• Raise 100% financial support (i.e. salary, benefits, retirement, ministry-related
expenses)
QUALIFICATIONS:
• The Associate Pastor must live a life above reproach. His character should align with the requirements of an elder/pastor/overseer found in I Timothy 3:1–7 and Titus 1:6–9.
• Ministry experience is preferred but not required.
• Theological training is required.
• He must desire to serve at least five years (barring extenuating circumstances).
• He must remain spiritually healthy: cultivating intimacy with the Lord through prayer, time in the Word, and healthy biblical fellowship.
