Paul and Julia are both California natives. Paul grew up attending church but didn’t come to know the Lord until his early twenties, while Julia came to know Him from an early age. As a family, they are committed to serving the Lord in Italy, a country they have come to love, and a place where only about 1% of the population are evangelical Christians.

Paul has spent the past twenty-five years refining his understanding of Scripture through formal theological training, earning a bachelor’s in biblical studies (BABS) and a master’s in religious studies (MRS), biblical studies (MABS), divinity (MDiv), and theology (ThM) from Southern California Seminary, along with a doctorate in biblical studies from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (PhD to be granted Dec 2026). To understand the Word more fully, he has traveled throughout the biblical lands, including Israel, Jordan, Turkey, Greece, and Rome.

Ministerially, Paul has served on staff at Barabbas Road Church in San Diego for 18 years as executive pastor and missions leader. He has been part of a pastoral team that has grown the church from a small plant to a vibrant, healthy congregation. During his time at the church, he has had the opportunity to minister in Uganda, South Sudan, India, Jordan, Slovenia, Papua New Guinea, and the Philippines.

Julia, with a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s in architecture, has faithfully served in a support role, serving in music as both a vocalist and pianist and working on building design and permitting for the church. She joyfully homeschools their two children, Andrea and Isaiah, and is always eager to host people in their home.

Paul and Julia are joining the team at Vicenza Bible Church and look forward to serving as faithful instruments for the Lord in Italy.
