OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE: - internships - short term - summer teams - long term
* Required training by the sending church or facilitating mission - ie. candidate school, other pre-field training, etc.
* Any requirements requested by the team leader on the field
* Musical training as needed for your particular assignment - could range from amateur to that of a professional ethnomusicologist - added benefits:
* able to play by ear and by note
* able to improvise, create, enjoy freedom in playing - very important
* Technical (ie. MIDI, sequencing, sound systems, etc.) training if required for your particular assignment - again, could range from amateur to that of a professional ethnomusicologist - depending on the need and whether you're going to a city or village, etc.
* Course: 'Perspectives on the World Christian Movement'
* Biblical training regarding:
- the background of musicians and artists in Scripture
- the role of a worshipper/worship leader/artist/musician in the Kingdom of God and in reaching the nations
- a look at why Christian musicians and artists are critical to God's mission today - worship evangelism
- the potential of rebuilding of nations through worshipping artists and musicians
* Some reading - texts and suggested reading from your particular mission,ministry, church or team leader
* Godly character: humility, servant heart, teachable, mature, spiritual integrity, a life characterized by love, willing to hold yourself accountable, committed to upgrading, having the qualities required of elders (ie. in Timothy), willing to learn to value the emotional/musical/artistic expression of another culture, willing to work as a team and to submit to the team leader, one who continues to grow as a worshipper
