HOW CAN YOU BEGIN TO MOVE IN THESE DIRECTIONS?
- Grace Wiebe

* Pray - find out if God may be leading you in these directions.

* Study what the Bible has to say about God’s artists and musicians and their role in the Great Commission.

* Contact Frontiers or other ministries to check out what some options might be for you (if you’d like a listing of ministries that are asking for artists and musicians, please click the link at the bottom of this page.

Ministries will likely ask you to go through their regular application process.

* If there's a need for more specific training, the ministry will likely recommend that as you talk together to find out what may still be required. Click on the link at the bottom of the page to connect with training options.

* Begin to talk with your church leaders/missions committee/folks you hold yourself accountable to about the things you feel God is putting on your heart in this regard and have them seek God's direction with you -- we (and other ministries you approach) would be happy to talk with them, as well, if they have questions.

* Find out as much as you can about the area of your interest. Find out about the people group that you believe God is leading you to focus on, musically and artistically. Also find out about the religion, culture, language and the history of the people, about what's already happening there in the arts, on what occasions music and the arts are used and what role they have in that culture, etc. For many resources on this, check out the Music and Art links on this site.

* At some point you would potentially join a ministry and then go through their specific ministry training or orientation/candidate school, etc.

* Somewhere in the process you would be matched with a potential team/team leader and hopefully see God confirming your direction more and more as you continue to take steps of faith in that direction.

* Since this is an area which the enemy strongly opposes, I strongly recommend that you ask for prayer support from the beginning of your journey in seeking God’s direction in all of this.

You will need it from beginning to end and your prayer partners will be greatly blessed as well through this partnership with you.

* Once your sending church feels you are ready, you feel you are ready, the ministry/mission and the team leader feel you are ready, you will be released into your ministry -- an adventure which will hopefully draw you into deeper intimacy with Christ and also draw the people you’re ministering among to glorify Him through their own worship of Him as you help to encourage and facilitate them in that direction.
