Awaaz International Music
(Music Ministry of Tahira Sherril Haidar Ali)

Dear Friends,
May the joyous celebration of New Year be with you all.

I want to thank you for your prayers and would like to share a few highlights my work in the past year.

I visited India on Dec 7th 2001 and spent Christmas /New Year with my father who turned 79-years-old, close friends and family.

I ministered mainly in Bombay, Ratlam, Delhi and Ludhiana. The concert at the Christian Medical Hospital and College in Ludhiana was very well received and there was a good response from many non-Christians who heard God's word in song and testimony...

I was also able to meet (some well-known Indian musicians) and request your prayers for their salvation.

Some others in the music industry which have accepted Christ. They were at a house meeting of my friend, a Sindhi convert in Bombay.

I left India in April and came through England. Doors opened among the Indians and Pakistanis in Birmingham, Oxford, Southhall and East London. I also had a good opportunity to participate and sing in the youth meeting of Naujawaan near London.

I returned to the USA in May '02. The UCC church in Dallas was having its VBS and I participated in that program. Later in the month I went to Vancouver, Canada, to minister in the Punjabi Convention where the majority of believers are converts from the Sikh faith. God opened a new door in Detroit and I visited the Indo-Pak church and sang in praise of the Lord.

In June, I went to Tulsa to visit and take counsel of my spiritual parents Ray and Peggy Seals and ministered in Tulsa. Another new opening in Oklahoma City among the South Indian immigrants was appreciated.

In July, I ministered in the East West church in Los Angeles and I also sang in praise of the Lord in a crusade later. I was able to spend Veterans Day in Portland with two retired missionaries. One of them, Anna Nixon, was a 'prisoner of war'. We salute those who suffered for Christ and are models along with several other missionary friends who served in India. We may forget, but we owe much to those who served our land.

In August, I left for Seattle and Vancouver again since I have been praying about making Vancouver my ministry base. I was able to attend and minister in another Punjabi Church of converts from Hinduism and Sikhism. I started a new audio recording there and am exploring opportunities to start a video project for 2002-2003.

In September and October I was able to give two concerts in Vancouver and join the Charismatic Anglican church in Abbotsford as a member (since they are affiliated with the Church of North India). I had a chance to sing in Seattle in the Indian church. In November, I travelled to Yuba City, Stockton, Sacramento and Manteca (CA).

I thank God for many friends and families who host me in North America. I was able to spend the last part of November and beginning of December in Tulsa. I sang at the Victory International service and also in my American church.

In Dec I was back in Dallas where I ministered in different churches before leaving for Detroit on the 19th Dec. God opened a door of ministry among the Indo-Pak Lutheran church in Detriot. I arrived Vancouver, Canada on Dec 23rd for Christmas and New Year and to set up my new ministry base in Canada among the unreached Hindus and Sikhs. I will continue to travel and assist the existing churches with music training, production of music resources and ministering to broken families.

I plan to be in India by Febuary 2003 for two months or so. Please let me know if you would like to support this ministry trip.

Please do not forget to visit the Awaaz Int Music website (www.awaazmusic.com) and join one of the support groups.

If you would like to participate in the ministry by praying and offer financial support, please e-mail me for tax deductible receipts.

Your support will enable me to have funds for ministry travels in India and record the new audio-video production for radio and TV. The budget for Awaaz Int Music is $ 25000.

With much Blessings, prayers and love,
Yours in Christ,
Tahira Sherril Haidar Ali
