Core Values
|
* Whole-hearted, total-life worship from all nations is the desire of
God's heart
* Music and the arts have a vital role in discipling the nations --
God's command to "Disciple the Nations" means that ALL aspects of our
lives / culture must be affected as Jesus' disciples live out Christlike
lifestyles in every area and disciple others in every area of life.
God is bringing EVERYTHING under His Headship (Col.1:20; Eph.1:10, etc.).
By bringing the life and witness of Christ to bear in our cultures through
God-glorifying music and the arts, we begin to reclaim music and the
arts and other aspects of culture for the Kingdom of God! - the time
is now!
Aspects of culture that need to be discipled:
Education
Church/Religion
Medical
Business
Science & Technology
Communications - including Arts/Music - music and the arts have a way
of penetrating cultures like the tip of an arrow so the Gospel can follow
them in like the shaft of the arrow
* Partnership with local churches, ministries and missions is vital
if the Great Commission is to be accomplished
* Interdenominational - and focused on the biblical perspective of Jesus
Christ and His purposes for His children
* Gift development encouraged and exercise of gifts valued
* GCWAC Center staff roles will be focused on each person’s main areas
of gifting as much as possible
* Local and International with a focus in encouragement indigenous leaders
* Teamwork (synergy) highly valued
* Leadership must be servant-leadership
* Leadership training a high priority
* Flexibility is a necessity
* Loving and godly relationships are vitally important to seeing God
carry out His purposes. Relationships are key and will be a major focus
- God births ministry through relationship
* What we do should be easily Reproducible
* We see ourselves as facilitators (as God directs) of vision of folks
who share similar vision
* Anti-bureaucratic. Structure should serve vision -- Vision should
not be a slave to structure.
* Dependence on God - Walking by faith
* Mutual accountability
* Decentralization
* Prayer is foundational to being able to effectively cooperate with
God in His purposes. Therefore we will seek to see a growing base of
prayer partners to share with us in this ministry. Prayer partnerships
vital to moving ahead
* Grace oriented
* To be led by the Spirit and strongly rooted in the Word of God
* Desire for 'family' atmosphere, where musicians and artists can feel
like they belong
* Work with/support/serve and partner with existing ministries that
share similar vision
* Aim at getting godly, God-honoring artistic expressions of worship,
music, the arts and media ‘into the street’ and into the marketplace
locally and internationally
* Local and overseas vision working together
* Integrity - Being faithful in the small things
* Being led by the Spirit
* Looking for what God is doing and joining Him in that – ie. divine
appts. with potential partners
* Partnerships (ie. Nehemiah – working together towards the same vision)
* De-centralized vision rather than becoming an empire
* Mentoring is crucial in developing godly musicians and artists in
the Great Commission
* Desire to become self-supporting
* Creativity valued
* Willing to take risk as God leads
* Networking vital to serving the Body in the area of our vision
* Mobilization is a key aspect to this ministry
