THE
LEGACY - Wichita - The Legacy of a Kid Brother of St. Frank
Foundation exists to provide opportunities for Native American
youth to develop skills in music, fine arts, literature, and other
artistic pursuits, in the spirit and love of Christ and the example
of Saint Francis. In the 13th century, Francis of Assisi lived
a life of total abandonment to Jesus Christ. In the practice of
poverty, chastity, and obedience, he believed we can find deeper
meaning to faith, hope and love. By refusing to surround oneself
with possessions, by relying on Jesus for our hope, and by loving
others unconditionally, we desire, like St. Francis, to draw closer
to the Savior, Jesus Christ and live out His love by example.
The kid brother (Rich Mullins) believed in helping to provide
educational and artistic opportunities for Native American people.
He also believed in total abandonment to the pursuit of God. He
longed for the relentless tenderness of Jesus.
