THEATRE COMPANY (ministry of YWAM) – in Taraunga - Detour
Theatre Company has three main areas of ministry:
1. Ministry through performance
2. Ministry through teaching
3. Ministry through involvement in the theatre community
Through the performance of high quality innovative theatre, Detour
aims to communicate the truth and the character of God to our
audience. The main performance mediums we use are mime and acting.
The company performs in festivals, schools, public arenas, and
churches. Works are created that entertain and communicate.
Teaching is also an important part of the ministry. We equip Christians
with drama skills to produce excellent theatre. Members of Detour
Theatre Company teach at Bible schools, at Youth With A Mission
courses, in the community, and at churches.
Every arena of society needs the influence of Christians who are
committed to making a difference for Jesus. The theatre world
is no different. Through involvement in other theatre companies
and groups, Detour Theatre Company members provide a Christian
witness and a spirit of servanthood that makes an impact on the
lives of the non-Christian people we meet
