CCDA works together with Christian community development ministries to mobilize spiritual and physical resources in and for communities through the Church in a community-determined way that is redemptive.
Purpose
1. To strengthen existing Christian community development organizations.
2. To encourage new Christian community development efforts.
3. To promote Christian community development through regional training.
4. To educate and mobilize the body of Christ at large to become involved in Christian community development in their area.
5. To sustain, enable and inspire those individuals doing Christian community development
Principles of Christian Community Development
Mahyeno - MAHYENO'S BACKGROUND:
In the 1970's the Lord clearly showed a group of committed young Christians in Kimberly, South Africa, that He would one day use them in multi-faceted outreach.
God miraculously opened the way, and in 1984 the work was
started at the old, rundown Betania Swedish Mission Hospital, in Dundee, Northern
Kwa-Zulu Natal.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mahyeno's main building - Gilead
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our motto is Spending ourselves on behalf of the needy (Isaiah 58:10) with the ultimate goal of faith: to build in this place a model for a new South Africa - a city caring for the needy. Many similar communities are envisaged, spreading throughout the provinces of this country and further afield, proving to all that the way of discipleship - the Cross and self denial - faith living and a lifestyle of living more simply so that others may simply live, shall all serve to show forth the glory of God in this needy world.

MAHYENO'S CONTEMPLATIVE COMMUNITY:
Mahyeno is a duly constituted not-for-profit organisation which is governed by an intedenominational Christian council of Elders, and managed by a committee. Membership of the community is confined to those who have experianced a definite call from God into:
Contemplative community living,
The faith venture of the community (no charge is made for services, no fundraising
or appeals are made).
The specific work of the community, ie. caring for the poor and needy.
To those who are practising and witnessing disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ,
who show in their lives and lifestyle the fruit and the gifts of the Holy
Spirit. Ongoing in-service training and discipleship for community members
and volunteers is provided.

- Our Mission is to Promote and Provide Safe, Well-Managed Housing with on-site

& Surrounding Communities in Ventura County, California. In 1979, Frank
Schillo recruited a number of local businessmen, clergymen, civic club members
and realtors to address the needs of the poor and the lack of decent housing
available to them. Marvin Sosna, at that time the editor of the News Chronicle,
provided the name for the new Organization using a quote from John 14:2 and
3 in the Bible: "In my Father's House are Many Mansions."
