1) COORDINATE SUMMER TEAMS of Ethnomusicology Students

Does your mission or music/missions program at your school or training center have a student who has a vision to see teams of ethnomusicology students utilizing their skills in a missions environment among local or overseas Muslims? If so, if they have administrative / coordination (and potentially some pastoral types of gifts) gifts and if they would consider doing an internship where they would coordinate the team, we would consider having them do it under our supervision/coaching and in conjunction with you/your mission/school/training center, etc. Coaching could be done by email and the team could be trained in your region/on your campus, etc.

This could provide an opportunity for this student to learn a lot about the many related aspects of this type of internship. They may even enjoy it so much that in the future they may wish to coordinate more ethno summer teams, or even work with other schools and missionary ethnomusicologists to potentially coordinate summer teams of ethnomusicologists in other locations as well.

3) NETWORK WITH NATIONAL MUSIC/ARTS MINISTRIES, ARTISTS AND ARTS SUPPORTERS

Have someone work with us (we would coach them) - by email would be fine) to track down as many Christian worship, arts, music, media ministries/networks, artists and arts supporters as they can in Canada so we can network with them in the future.

Have someone work with me (we would coach them - perhaps they could do a summer internship and work with us in Vancouver, BC, Canada) to coordinate a local retreat for Kingdom of God/Great Commission-minded musicians and artists -- perhaps in 2006/7? We're hoping to do the first one in fall 2006, but this is an opportunity for the coming years as well since we'd like to see this continue as the Lord leads. It could be an on-going internship opportunity for other students in the future.

This is an opportunity for the coming years as well since we'd like to see this continue as the Lord leads. It could be an on-going internship opportunity for other students in the future as well.

Some ideas about what the first conference could potentially look like or include are here. This proposal is several years old and would need to be updated to be current.

6) WORK WITH US TO DEVELOP THE GREAT COMMISSION MUSICIANS & ARTISTS RESOURCE / NETWORKING CENTER

Have someone work with us (we would coach them) - perhaps they could do a summer internship and work with us in Vancouver, BC, Canada) to work with us in developing the local resource / networking center for missions-minded musicians and artists in this region -- this could also provide on-going opportunities for the coming years since it will take a long time to develop fully. It could be an on-going internship opportunity for other students in the future as well.

This project could also include developing a lending library of music/arts/media and the Great Commission resources.

11) WORK WITH US TO COORDINATE AN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC/ARTS FESTIVAL in conjunction with coming Missionsfests - this would still probably be a few years down the road. One idea is to host a festival that is focused on encouraging the local Church to appreciate the musical/artistic differences of expressions in the Body locally (here or in other CDN cities). Another possibility is to host festivals that are focused on reaching out to the lost through direct and/or and indirect evangelism through the arts.

Another thing we would love to see happening in the next few years, hopefully, once a good base has been laid through the Multicultural Worship & Arts Festival focused on BELIEVERS, is to have folks that we've connected with THROUGH THAT work with us to do a Christian-organized INTERNATIONAL MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL in Greater Vancouver as a way of reaching out to the lost - especially musicians and artists of whatever background - through INDIRECT and DIRECT (as appropriate) evangelism through the arts....

A local multi-cultural team of Christian leaders is currently in the process of coordinating a Multicultural Worship & Arts Festival for possibly fall, 2006. in Surrey, BC. 12) DEVELOP SPECIFIC POWERPOINT PRESENTATIONS to help build up a library of presentations which could be used in various music/arts/missions courses to help with training of missions-minded musicians/artists - or to help musicians/artists begin to think in those directions. These resources could then also be utilized by music/arts/missions training facilities in many nations. This could be done by email.
