If you or your church, mission, ministry, home group, house church or house church network, etc. has some musical instruments (or art supplies) - whether western or ethnic instruments, which you would like to contribute as a way of assisting in the encouragement of ethnic Christian musicians here locally in Greater Vancouver, BC, or internationally (through our contacts with various music/worship ministries and missions which are helping to assist and encourage the local indigenous churches by supporting and encouraging their musicians in various ways), please do let us know of your interest and we can discuss this further.
Something to prayerfully consider would be which country or ministry you would like to send the instruments (or art supplies) to, etc. We are currently networking with several ministries that are already involved in this type of ministry so will be passing any appropriate requests regarding their regions to them so they can respond to you directly.
If you are interested in assisting in this in some way and you'd like to discuss this further, contact: info@DiscipleTheNations.org

Cuba
With MUSICIANARIES INTERNATIONAL
A CURRENT NEED is for instruments, such as guitar strings, etc., for some believers in Cuba:
From a missionary: "...You mentioned about wanting to help with the music needs at the churches andcamps in Cuba...one of the big needs is for sets of classical (nylon) guitar strings. Many of the Christians using guitars in their churches and camps have very old strings (one fellow at a camp I visited this August told me that his guitar strings are 10 years old!). Strings are hard to get ahold of there, and, coupled with the cost when found, many cannot buy them. I have put out the word that donations of guitar string sets would be greatly appreciated. I have one set donated and a few other people told me that they will send me some more. They will make great gifts for the brothers and sisters there. If you and your contacts can help there, it would be greatly appreciated. As for taking in instruments, it is difficult, as customs duties there can be quite high (up to 100% of value!), funds are better raised and sent in to purchase items there. Guitar string sets, though, are light, small and easy to throw in a suitcase..."

INSTRUMENT BANK: HELP! WE NEED MORE MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"...One of the unique ministries of Musicianaries
International is that we collect and receive donated new and used musical
instruments from people all over the USA, and then deliver them to music ministers
in third world countries, who cannot normally afford to purchase instruments
for their praise & worship services and Evangelical outreach concerts.
Some of the countries that have received instruments are: Cuba (over 300 instruments),
South Africa, Pakistan, Dominican Republic, Cambodia, India, Kenya, Honduras
and the Bahamas. We have delivered or shipped over 700+ instruments so far
for the Kingdom and glory of God.
Most of the donated instruments come from people like you. Maybe you played
a flute, clarinet, trumpet or trombone in high school or college. Some people
have their Father's old accordion that he used to play for Church services,
but now stored in the attic collecting dust (and they have sent the accordion
to be used in "house churches" in Cuba). Couldn't these old instruments
be put to better use in the hands of needy Christians in impoverished countries,
to be used for their worship services? Remember, that in Old Testament days,
it was the singers and musicians who led the army of God, armed with the praises
of God, singing and playing their instruments. We want to equip these third
world believers with the "worship weapons" they need to properly
worship the Lord.
OUR "INSTRUMENT BANK" IS ALMOST EMPTY. We need more instruments
to be able to fulfill the many requests we have from these third world music
ministers and Pastors, many of whom are currently leading worship with a tambourine,
while the choirs and people sing acapella (without instruments). We have less
than 30 instruments (in usable shape), to be able to satisfy many requests
worldwide.
We currently need: electronic keyboards (like Casio, Yamaha, Kurzweil etc.)
which can be purchased at places like Wal-Mart or pawn shops, electric guitars,
acoustic guitars (we need many of these), electric bass guitars, violins,
violas, cellos, trumpets, cornets, trombones, alto saxophones, tenor saxophones,
clarinets, flutes, snare drums, drum sets, (urgent) drum heads and drum sticks,
good quality drum set cymbals, conga drums and any kind of percussion instruments,
guitar strings, guitar cases and straps, clarinet reeds, alto and tenor saxophone
reeds, etc. Even if you don't currently have any instruments, perhaps you
would pray about going to your local music store and purchasing guitar strings
and or drum sticks to send to the mission field through us?
Would you please contact your church music minister, and see if he/she has
any instruments they are not using any more, that they would consider sending
to us? How about your Bible study class or small group? Would you please share
these needs with them as well? Maybe you would pray about having an "Instrument
Drive" at your Church or local Christian radio station?
Whatever you can do to help us will be greatly appreciated! Please box up
and send any instruments or music supplies to our office:
* Musicianaries International, Inc., 1194 Old Dixie Highway, Suite #8, Lake
Park, FL 33477-4481
USA
It would be an additional blessing to us and make it easier for us to get
the instruments delivered if you would consider giving a financial gift along
with the instrument (i.e. $25) though this is certainly not necessary. Sometimes
we have to pay baggage "overage/over weight fees" of up to $80 extra
per container when we fly overseas to deliver the instruments on our outreaches.
Please include your name and address inside the donated instrument. Thank
you.

Thank you and God bless you! - Bobby Michaels
