If you live in the Lower Mainland of BC, Canada, love God and desire to see all nations whole-heartedly worshipping Jesus Christ - and using your gifts/abilities as a recording engineer, producer, arranger, etc. to encourage ethnic believers in these directions, then the following may be of interest to you!
We've been working with the Director of Heart Sounds International for many years with the International Worship & Arts Network. It has been exciting to see HEART SOUNDS INT'L develop!
If you are interested in seeing local and/or overseas ethnic believers encouraged in their faith and others becoming disciples of Jesus and encouraging the recording of ethnic/indigenous worship songs, increasingly, seems to be a very effective way to assist in these directions! - especially as we as the International Worship & Arts Network and the Great Commission Worship & Arts Center help to distribute the ethnic worship CDs that are recorded, etc., to Christian radio and TV ministries which are reaching out to these specific language/people groups locally or overseas.
If you are a Christian recording engineer, producer, arranger, etc. and are interested in potentially becoming part of a local or international team of Christian recording engineers/producers, etc. to assist in these directions, please let me know, and ESPECIALLY if you're in the Greater Vancouver region or in Canada!!
We're hoping that in the coming months (it is now January 2003) we will be able to meet together with all local parties interested and begin to develop a team, and hopefully the Director or one of the exec team of Heart Sounds will be able to meet with all of us here sometime in 2003!
If you know of others who you think might be interested, please have them contact us so we can be in touch with them as well, or send us their email addy so we can introduce ourselves and HSI to them as well.

Mandate: HSI functions to assist local churches and mission organizations in restricted parts of the world with worship teaching, music training, and the recording and distribution of worship recordings. We work mostly in West and Central Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
Preparations for a recording project: Following requests to come to an area, a 4-6 month preparation begins. This involves
· confirming local musicians and local leaders to
oversee the project
· finalizing songs for the recording and confirming the musicians
· preparing a room acoustically to be used as a recording venue
· deciding on what equipment to bring. Purchasing equipment as needed
· confirming the team that will go. (teams formed of 2-4 people).
· confirming logistics of visas, travel, housing, etc.
Non-recording Activities: In addition to the recordings,
we also do the following, as needed:
· music and worship seminars
· songwriting workshops to encourage the writing of new indigenous
songs
· church meetings
· training of locals in the use of electronic equipment and recording
techniques
Schedule: During 2002 we have done projects in
· Africa: two recording projects and a video
· Asia: songwriting workshop and demo tape of the newly-composed songs
· Central Asia: children's musical recording and music video
· Another Central Asian country: set up new studio and train local
people in recording techniques
· Southern Africa and Guatemala: worship recordings
For 2003 we have plans thus far for ministry in the following places. All team members to be confirmed)
· India: set up a video studio and make a short
video
· Middle East: start an 18-month project of installing both audio and
video studios, recording projects and training of locals
· Asia: make the first-ever "Taliban-dialect" worship recording
· Another Asian nation: songwriting workshop # 2 in indigenous styles,
and do a recording of the songs from last year's workshop

New developments:
· Setting up video as well as audio studios with
HSI visits
· Establishing funding strategy outside of HSI before taking on new
projects.
· Adding internships with college students
· Developing global distribution strategy for our recordings
