and performance situations. This musical interaction is taking place both in
Africa and abroad between African master drummers and other instrumentalists,
and American percussionists and other musicians and educators. The availability
of recordings made for teaching, such as this set (two audio cassette tapes),
will enable students of African percussion to have access not only to some of
the repertoire of noted African drummers, but also to models uniquely recorded
