Institute for the Church and Community Arts
The Institute for the Church and Community Arts (ICCA)
is a research and training institute for community leaders, youth workers,
ministers, teachers, and artists who want to integrate the arts effectively
in community-based service and church community mission. ICCA seeks to harness
the power of the arts for community outreach and congregational transformation
by bringing faith and art to life contexts. ICCA is a program of BuildaBridge
International (BI).
By 2006 ICCA will be recognized as a model international institute for the
encouragement and development of church and community arts within multicultural
global communities. Through an annual Philadelphia institute, international
institutes, web-based training, and arts mentoring internships, ICCA will,
in partnership with accredited educational partners, provide a Certificate
in the Church and Community Arts and graduate degree studies within the United
States and abroad. ICCA will have successfully identified, enlisted, networked
and enrolled faith-based musicians, artists, dancers and thespians from representative
ethnic communities and churches who are involved as leaders in building a
multicultural team approach to community development and congregational growth.
Institute Goals
