us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to
himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed
to us the message of reconciliation. 20We are therefore Christ's ambassadors,

The True Foundation: Christlikeness
http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=2746
December 31, 2004
Christ, Himself, is the eternal blueprint for our lives. Only in studying
Him, in measuring ourselves by Him, do we grow securely upon the foundation
of God.
Beloved, we were created to become like Christ. Yet, some would lead us to a lesser destiny. They teach that a stumbling, disobedient people can somehow also be the same "overcomers" spoken of in the Sacred book. Yet, God's plan has not faded out or become obsolete! Even as Christ has not changed, so neither has the plan of God for the church. Our transformation will burn in God's heart "until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a mature man, to the measure of the stature which belongs to the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:13).
CHRISTLIKENESS: WHAT WE BECOME, NOT WHAT WE DO
You see, the focus of both leadership and congregations should be upon attaining Christlike transformation. This has been the Father's purpose from the beginning of time and it remains His unchanging goal at the end of the age (See Genesis 1:26-27 and Romans 8:28-29).
At the same time, just as an individual can have a unique calling, so congregations can be called to fulfill a variety of subordinate, yet important, priorities. A congregation may have a strong outreach program to the poor or they may possess a special grace to release spiritual gifts. A church may have a unique skill to reach youth or a wisdom in strengthening marriages. There are many legitimate tasks assigned by God to individual congregations.
The problem is that, too often, we define ourselves by what we do for God rather than what we become to Him. What pleases the Father most is not what proceeds from our hands but what rises from our hearts. He is seeking the revelation of His Son in us.
Thus, over the years, I have learned that there is nothing on earth that so pleases the Father's heart as when Jesus Christ is revealed in us. It is this singular goal: the focused pursuit of Christlikeness, that is our quest.
A STRONG FOUNDATION
Our mission is to bring as many people to heaven as we can, in as Christlike condition as possible. When we refer to becoming Christlike, we mean becoming people who think, pray, and act out of love; Christians who are humble and committed to true spiritual unity with other churches; disciples who are known for their love for one another.
This is why we focus on revealing Christ Himself instead of being caught up perfecting peripheral or subordinate doctrines. Other aspects of Christianity develop correctly only as they are built upon the foundation of Christlikeness. No aspect of our spirituality was created to exist apart from Christ.
THAT I MAY KNOW HIM
In pursuing Christlikeness we find true balance and spiritual assurance that we are not being led astray. Indeed, Paul said that the result of seeking the full stature of Christ, is that "we are no longer to be children, tossed here and there by waves, and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, by craftiness in deceitful scheming" (Ephesians 4:14).
Paul warned that people can be "carried about by every wind of doctrine." Yes, false doctrines are dangerous, but Paul wasn't limiting his warning only to false teachings. For even a true doctrine can have a false emphasis and lead us astray. The pursuit of Christlikeness aligns us with the Father's highest priority for our lives. It secures us upon the path to truth.
Paul also wrote that intimacy with Jesus Christ was the deepest cry of his heart. He wrote, "that I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death" (Philippians 3:10). Yet, he was not speaking of some esoteric knowledge of Christ, but an intimacy that lead to conformity. Do you see this? He wrote, "that I may know Him. . . being conformed." Knowing Christ and being conformed to Him is of the same essence.
Our quest is to see hundreds of thousands of Christlike Christians planted in every nation of the world. If radical Muslims will lay their lives down in murder and hatred of their enemies, how much more must we, as followers of the Lamb, lay our lives down in love to secure salvation for our enemies.

Ezra 3:10 When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the LORD (we are His temple) , the priests in their vestments and with trumpets (what is the significance of this in our time??), and the Levites (the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the LORD , as prescribed by David king of Israel.
Ezra 3:11 With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the LORD : "He is
good; his love to Israel endures forever." And all the people gave a

the LORD was laid.
Ezra 3:12 But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who

temple being laid, while many others shouted for joy.
Why would some be weeping??

household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation
of the truth.
1 Timothy 6:19
In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation
for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.

Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription:
"The Lord knows those who are his,"[ 2:19 Num. 16:5 (see Septuagint)]
and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from
wickedness."
Hebrews 6:1
Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to
maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead
to death,[ 6:1 Or from useless rituals] and of faith in God,

BRET WADE: Dear Friends, I am excited about 2003! I have had a stirring for months to get myself ready. I have had the impression that I should free my schedule by working wisely. God wants to move fast in this upcoming year!
It seems as if all that the Lord has been preparing the Body of Christ. It has begun to reach a place of soundness. I believe the Lord wants to take that soundness and now begin to exploit it to be built upon.
Over the last couple years, we have been in a process of refocusing, redefining and realignment. Most of this has been dealing with our thinking and perception.
GOD IS RETURNING ALL THINGS BACK TO A BIBLICAL PATTERN God is returning all things back to basic biblical pattern. God wants sons. The Biblical pattern of reproducing and training is father and son. God is developing sons and daughters in this hour. He is not so much interested in developing apostles or prophets, etc. He is interested in raising sons and daughters who know what they are called to function in. It's more in the "being" than in the "doing". "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God." Romans 8:14, 19 He has been redefining how we relate to Him & His Body. Intimacy has been the cry of His heart. It should be the cry of ours as God is bringing clarity to who we are to Him. These things have been some of the spiritual posturing that causes realignment. When we realign with His ways and purposes, we get His results. The building brings the blessing.
WHAT HE WANTS TO PERPETRATE Here are some things I believe are on the Lord's heart that He wants to perpetuate: "And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all. Nor was there anyone among them who lacked; for all who were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles' feet; and they distributed to each as anyone had need." Acts 4:33-35 Expect a fresh release of God's grace for the apostolic to be increased in characteristics and corresponding results.
INTIMACY VS. RELIGIOUS ORDER The hunger for intimacy will precede manifestations of His glory. Signs, miracles and wonders will be accessed by those who chose to flow with God's apostolic authority. There will be a separation of those who are seriously intent on serving God in intimacy. Especially those who seek intimacy in the area of worship. It will be an apparent contrast to those who pursue religious order. Worship will be an area of focus for many ministries in this upcoming year as God restores the tabernacle of David. Covenant-mindedness will become a strong desire. God is drawing the church into being filled with His fullness. The key of the love of God will be discovered.
THE GRACE OF COHESION IN RELATIONSHIPS Cohesion will become a grace with greater expression among those seeking relationship. True unity will be released among those who are willing to live in covenant by God's definition. Disjointedness will be addressed by the spirit of unity. This season will be one of opportunity. Financial strategies will prevail. It will take sensitivity to His timing and direction to obtain. We are entering into a realm and time of apostolic access.
THE BUSINESS REALM God's economy among His community! There will be an apostolic grace for divine performance in the business realm. We will begin to see God establish His economy among those who participate in apostolic community. Divine favor and business wisdom will produce a release of wealth to possess lands, business, buildings and homes. Our cities' communities will be greatly affected as the governmental officials begin connecting themselves with apostolic and prophetic strategists that have fruit that remains. They will be looking for character and results. Spiritual warfare will become more direct and purposeful. With the rise of generals in the Body there will be a release of more tactical warfare. "I will cause you to possess what you fight for". Until we meet again, we are...

"THE FOUNDATION" -- By Rick Joyner - Apr 20, 2002
web site address:
"Ephesians 2:20: ". . . Having been built upon the foundation
of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone."
Paul is not saying that the apostles and prophets are the foundation. As he
wrote in I Corinthians 3:11, Jesus Christ is the only foundation for the church.
It is the apostles and prophets who lay the foundation, which is Jesus. Jesus
is not only the Cornerstone and the FoundationHe is the whole building.
----------------------------
"HE" IS WHAT IS BEING BUILT
----------------------------
In biblical times, engineers did not have elaborate plans drawn on large sheets
of paper to work from. Instead they used the cornerstone of a building, which
was made to be a scale of its shape and dimensions. That is why the cornerstone
of the pyramids was also the capstone. During construction they would continually
refer back to the cornerstone to be sure that they were complying with the
architect's plan. In this same way, Jesus is our Cornerstone. He is what is
being built. This is what Paul summed up as the purpose of his work, and is
the essence of true apostolic and prophetic ministry, as we read in Colossians
1:28-29:
"And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with
all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ. And for this
purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works
within me."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
PAUL WASN'T JUST TRYING TO GET PEOPLE TO CONFESS JESUS AS THEIR SAVIOR . .
.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Paul wasn't just trying to get people to confess Jesus as their Savior, though
that is certainly an important beginning. He wasn't just trying to get them
to understand Christian doctrine accurately, though that too is important.
This was also about much more than just planting churches wherever he went.
All of these were but a means to the end-- having each believer, CONFORMED
TO THE IMAGE OF CHRIST. This is the image of God that many were originally
created to bear. This begins with reconciliation to God through the atonement
of the cross. After the atonement comes the renewing of our minds, and the
conforming of our lives to His ways.
As stated previously, God does not judge the condition or quality of His church
by how good the meetings are on Sunday morning, but by how good the people
are on Monday morning. The main calling of our life is more than just knowing
the truth--it is having that truth become our life.
The main purpose of the church is more than just providing ministry to the
peopleit is laboring until each one is conformed to the image of Christ. That
is the foundation of apostolic and prophetic ministry, and what they are called
to impart to all of the ministries in the church. This is the foundation of
ministrylaboring for each one to be made complete in Christ.
---------------------------
HOW WE JUDGE OUR OWN LIVES
---------------------------
How does our ministry measure up when judged on this basis? The quality of
our ministry is determined by the quality of the people we minister to in
their daily lives. How are they at home? How are they when at work? How patient,
loving, and kind are they when shopping, or in traffic? How do they live in
secret when no one else is around to see them? Are they becoming more like
Christ? This should be how we judge our own lives. Are we more like Christ
this year than last year? Is that the fruit of our ministry in the people's
lives that we minister to?
Church history is similar to the history of Israel in Scripture. It is a continuous
cycle of revival and deliverance followed by apathy, apostasy, bondage, and
then the revival and deliverance that starts the cycle over again. The apathy
usually turned into apostasy when rituals were used to replace the truths
that they represented, or in more modern times, projects are used as a substitute
for the life of Christ in our midst.
There is nothing wrong with rituals when they are used properly, or with projects
when they are kept in their place of secondary importance. We can possibly
point to every major problem the church has had in history, and possibly in
our own individual lives, as being the result of being distracted from our
primary purposebeing conformed to the image of Christ, and our ministry purposehelping
others to conform to His image.
Isn't it time that we broke that cycle?"
