February 27 - 28, 2004. The Firs Conference Center presents "Emmaus Road," a Marketplace Ministry Seminar with Paul Stevens & Bill Palmer. "Church on Sunday, work on Monday too often divides life into the sacred and the secular. Fulltime service, it is often thought, means going into pastoral ministry or missionary service. The reality, however, from the perspective of Scripture, is that no "part-time" option is available. Work in the world is sacred and has intrinsic value (not just for raising money to support ministries). This conference explores what work matters to God (and your neighbour), how and why we can put our hearts into our daily work, and how the work world is the greatest mission field in the world, today. There will be biblical presentations, life stories, and case studies. For more information, call The Firs at 360-733-6840 or 800-765-3477 or visit www.thefirs.org The impact is for life!

KINGDOM DEVELOPMENT: Business as mission

(From Joel News Int'l)

From 19-24 January 2003 YWAM International will host a Global Consultation on Business as Mission. Business is rapidly becoming recognised as one of the most strategic tools for ministry within the missions community. At the same time many business people are asking what more they can do with the gifts that God has given them in business. The Christian business community is already engaging with mission in small numbers, but thousands more are eager to get involved. There is an open door for doing business in almost every nation and business activity can have a powerful impact as we seek to disciple nations.
