(Editor's Note) - One of the many constant faith challenges for musicians, artists and artists in ministry, is the need for income and having the need for a flexible schedule.
These days, more and more singles and families are also seeking to find suitable home-based businesses in order to cut costs in other ways - ie. spending less money commuting to work, or eating out as often due to the work situation, etc., or they are seeking to spend more time at home with their families. Others are increasingly seeing theirs homes as 'ministry centers' - especially those involved in house churches - and are seeking to develop meaningful relationships into the marketplace through home-based business. Yet others are seeking an additional source of ministry income, or a home-based business possibility which will enable them to utilize their business income in no matter which culture or country they are in.
Along with this is the desire that many church planters have of utilizing natural ways of reaching out into their regions to build relationships and, through friendship evangelism, seek to see whole=hearted, total-life worshippers of Jesus developed - whether through house churches or other churches.
In countries where missionaries are not given missionary visas, it is increasingly necessary to find opportunities which can also provide a legitimate and viable entry visa, and in countries where people are persecuted for their faith, many believers are also in need of a source of income, especially if they become ostracized from their families and communities.
I firmly believe that the need for home-based businesses is going to increase, and that it can potentially provide the kind of solution that many are looking for in the above types of situations.
In addition, across the globe there is a rising awakening of the realization that God is raising up many gifted and passionate, GODLY business people that have a passion for God, a vision of impacting the marketplace through living out a GODLY lifestyle through their business, and utilizing GODLY, BIBLICAL principles. These are people that are passionate about God and seeing His Kingdom expanded! Imagine the potential impact, throughout the nations, of the growing reach of godly, loving musicians and artists that share Kingdom-vision and are running effective God-honoring arts businesses!
